Our new sugger lump large sound bug works in much the same way as a mobile phone. With it's small dimensions, it is very simple to hide. Covers a area of about 50~100m². Our ACQ-GSMBUG has a built in battery that lasts for about 3 hours "talk time" and up to 4 days "standby time".
The bug functions as an ordinary mobile phone however all the "unnecessary" have been removed like keypad, display, speakers, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc, etc, and retained only the microphone and the GSM chip and included a small battery. Some features can be programmed remotely via SMS.
The most common way of using the bug is to install a prepaid SIM-card inside the bug at which moment it switches on automatically. After 3-5 minutes it is active. The bugg is than placed at location where it automatically goes into "standby". When you want to listen in to the sound around the bug, you simply call the SIM-card number.
The battery is charged via a mini-USB connector.
Because ACQ-GSMBUG is so small, is advantageous to use a mini-SIM. It can be used with a standard SIM card, but the hatch cover can not be closed.
The bug uses the frequencies 900/1800 MHz for best compatibility.
